Airseptor Specification

The Airseptor conversion unit comprises of high quality UPVC plastic and UPVC pressure plastic to prevent any decay of the system. There are also no moving parts inside the tank once in- stalled to make for easy maintenance and repairs.

How the Airseptor works

The Airseptor is powered by an air compressor which aerates the full body of the tank. This main body of the tank is where the large solids are collected and digested by aerobic bacteria to treat the sewage.

The treated liquid sewage is then separated from the solid sewage by gravitational density separation (GDS) into the body of the Airseptor unit itself. The treated liquid then undergoes more GDS as it enters the discharge tube, where the liquid is pumped out using excess air from the compressor.

The treated effluent is then discharged into a soakaway or ditch.

How the Airseptor complies with Environmental Agency standards

  • Must be discharged to a watercourse or soak away (we can install this on request)

  • EN and BS numbers do not apply to conversion units, they are specifically for the tank itself.

Discharge Quality:

  • 10-40mg/L of suspended solids (SS) (30mg/L 95%ile)

  • 5-30mg/L Biological oxygen demand (BOD) (20mg/L 95%ile)

This quality of discharge is well within the parameters set out by the Environment Agency.

Environmental permit

You may require a permit for discharge if you do not have an already existing outlet from your tank or if you are discharging to surface water/ ground water.

CH Services are happy to help you through this application which attracts the sum of £125 from the EA.

Our Lifetime Guarantee

The Airseptor unit itself has a lifetime guarantee; the Airseptor will be repaired or replaced by CH Services if it does not produce effluent of the stated quality.

The Air compressor has a 2 year guarantee which states that the compressor will be replaced if it breaks or does not work to full capacity.

Compressor Specification

  • 55 W power input

  • 80 L/min airflow

  • 0.036 Mpa of pressure

  • I P 44 level of waterproofing

Maintenance

Any signs of smells and sludge pollution not draining properly, need to be addressed right away. It is recommended by the Environmental Agency to have an annual service of your sewage treatment plant to maintain discharge quality and the health of the Airseptor unit.

Upon servicing we will recommend if the tank should need emptying by testing the quality of effluent.
